Your California Privacy Rights
According to Section 1798.83 of the California Civil Code, a. k. a. “Shine the Light Act”, a California resident has the right to request the names and addresses of any third parties that received his or her personal information from a business for the third parties’ direct marketing efforts if the business has an established relationship with the California a resident and has disclosed the resident’s “personal information” to third parties within the previous calendar year and, if the business knows or reasonably should know that the third parties used the California resident’s personal information for direct marketing purposes.
Please note that under this law, businesses are only required to respond to a customer request once during any calendar year and are not required to respond to any request that is not sent to the e-mail or the mailing address provided for herein.
